Why You Need To Give Yourself Permission To Let Go

It seems like there is always something to do.

There is something always to achieve, something always to maintain, something always to think about. Do you ever feel that way?

At one point this year, I had so much going on that it was hard for me to stay motivated and to breathe. I felt so overwhelmed. I decided to change the situation. I determine the source of the frustration and then decided to what I could take care and what I couldn’t. Whatever was beyond my control, I brushed it off and made peace with it. Instead of feeling the pressures of life, I gave myself permission to let go… to decide that I am going to do the best that I can (while not stressing out).

I realized that whenever I would give myself permission to be imperfect (which is really being human), I could stop beating myself up about everything. I stopped having a bad attitude. I stopped getting so uptight about life. I could finally breathe and rest in this idea that, “Everything’s going to Ok.”

Giving yourself permission to let go is not always easy. It takes just as much as discipline as it does to feel the pressures of life and all that you have to do/achieve/become. But I have realized that life is so much more fulfilling and meaningful when you give yourself permission to let go.

When you let go, you live. You enjoy the journey of life.

When we decide that we are going to give ourselves permission to let go, that’s when we can actually enjoy life and all that comes our way. We can start being more accepting of things, of people, and of challenges, we are then able to realize that though sometimes things are not going exactly our way, it’s OK. Life is not meant to be perfect and nor are we.

And, that’s why we have to learn to give ourselves permission to sometimes let go.
