Whenever you are about to start a new journey, it’s easy to be nervous, doubtful, scared, or anxious about what’s up ahead. It’s so easy, especially as our mind takes over – reminding us about all of our so-called inadequacies, fears, and more.
But what I’ve discovered is that when you find your passion, it makes starting your journey a little easier. It takes the pressure off. It makes you believe in what’s possible. It makes you excited, and it somehow inevitably calms you – making you even more willing to push the gas to get going.
Yet, I can still understand that the hardest thing to do when you’re trying to do anything is to simply start. We try to be as prepared for the journey as possible. We stress about being prepared. We doubt ourselves. All of these things I think somehow cripple us and stop us from our purpose, from creating impact, and from the great things that lie up ahead.
It’s easy to dream. It’s easy to talk about doing something. But the hardest part is being willing to actually move forward with it… to decide to try to do it. This is something that I’ve been thinking about lately, like what if we all decided to attempt the things that we envisioned ourselves doing? How would that change the world? How would it change our thoughts about what’s possible?
With the new year in full gear, starting something new is probably on the minds of many. Even some of my friends are telling me about new things they are starting or want to start in the new year. Some of them are more nervous than others, but all of them are willing to simply start where they are, believing that they will be guided to and discover what they need for the journey up ahead…
And that’s the beautiful part about life.
When you start something that you were meant to do, you will miraculously be guided in how to do it, because it is probably part of your greater purpose on this earth. Somehow I believe that for those of us who do make up our minds to simply start where we are, anything is possible in life. We don’t have to know all of the answers. We don’t have to know every single detail of every action or idea at the brink of starting. We simply need to start.
I hope this encourages you in 2016, motivating you and empowering you to believe in yourself and to believe in all that you are capable of achieving this year and in your lifetime. Now, make the decision to start where you are.
