How To Deal With Life When More Is Required of You, Than You Can Handle

A few weeks ago, I made a Facebook status revealing what I felt struggling as a Christian meant.

Not too long ago whenever I was met with hardship, adversity, lack or any other “bad” thing I would automatically cry out “Why me?!”

I just couldn’t understand why I kept being faced with challenge after challenge and struggle after struggle. This perpetual persecution just didn’t make sense to me, especially seeing that in my mind I was a devout follower of God and tried my hardest to keep God’s Word. Well, it should go without saying that this mentality didn’t get me too far in life and just further frustrated my position.

I needed a mental makeover and that’s just what God did.

Romans 12:2 says that we are not conform to the ways of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. This verse means so much because to me, it’s what separates the Believers from the non- believers. It’s the Christian’s mini blue print for living; to not conform to the ways of the world but to allow your mind to be transformed.

God heard my cry and He through the reading of His Holy Word, my mind was transformed. My mental makeover occurred when I realized that struggle is a mark of greatness. It was then God took away my right mind and allowed me to start using my righteous mind. Each and every process in life has a purpose. Therefore, you, I, and all other Believers are not struggling in vain. Not only are there lessons and blessings in the storm, but there are promises on the other side.

The world would like for people to get caught up in their daily struggles and lose focus on God. But we… we are called to be set apart. Moreover if you just take a look through the Bible, you will see that all the great servants of God had to go through a process to reach their promise.

You can take this theory and apply to Abraham all the way down to Jesus. It was almost as if the greater the struggle or test, the greater the glory that follows it. Certainly, Jesus was called to sacrifice His life and to be beaten and humiliated in front of the world. But nobody has ever reaped the type of promise, blessings, or glory that Jesus had and I’m sure no one ever will…

When you’re operating in your right mind, that is your wordly mind, you cannot see the beauty of the process. But when you pray to God to transform your mind so that you may go from thinking rightly to righteously, your entire world will change before your eyes. Don’t focus on the process, the process is temporary.

Focus on God’s promises for you which are eternal.  Life’s struggles may seem hard and unfair but God is good, fair and just; He will never leave you nor will God forsake you. So hold tight, be patient and confident that the Lord will bring you through better than when you went in. Your process has a purpose and it is working for your good.

Be blessed.
