When we look into the mirror, we see many versions of ourselves. We see how we want to be perceived as well as how we want others to perceive us.
Sometimes we even compare our reflection to the reflection of someone else… but
“To wish you were someone else is to waste the person you are,” Sven-Goran Eriksson once stated.
It’s evident that our self-esteem develops as he or she focuses on how we want to perceive ourselves. Comparing ourselves to others is something we should stay away from. Everyone has their own timing and set of blessings. To sulk over others blessings shows that you do not appreciate your own. Then we wonder why we have not received ours yet.
Your blessings are there, and you have accomplished more than you think. When you focus on your own expectations and goals, you will see how far you have come. Never mind the pressures and expectations of other people around you. Even the closest people to you can not see everything that you deal with.
Your opinion is the only one that matters and realizing what you have is all up to you. So when you take a look in the mirror, always remember to smile and be grateful for who you are and what you have. There are people around the world that would do anything to have the blessings that you overlook.
Something as simple as a book to read or paper to write on is a blessing. A pair of shoes to wear every day is a blessing. Having your own bed to sleep in is a blessing. Know that you are truly blessed and amazing.
