Before we traveled, I thought we were crazy. But in so many other cultures, not only is it acceptable to take time for yourself to travel and pursue new adventures, it’s encouraged. It’s valued.
Its mission is to document “A People’s Journey,” an American journey that takes place across oceans, land and time; a journey that is, at times, harrowing and traumatic, and at others, joyful and triumphant.
While we could probably write an entire book on how those few months of exploration and self-discovery has changed our lives for the better, today we’re sharing the top 5 ways our long-term travel changed our perspectives on life.
Opportunities to volunteer are available to travelers of all ages: from high school students to entire families, from young working adults to retired senior citizens. The only requirements are a desire to help others and a sense of adventure…oh, and a few hundred dollars.
