A few weeks ago, a million or more people marched around the world in support of the Parkland students’ movement that is encapsulated with the hashtag NeverAgain. Like many of you, I’ve marveled at and been inspired by the initiative of a group of high school students who have organized themselves to lead a nationwide movement to curb gun violence.

Detroit and Flint have made national headlines almost daily for the last several weeks. Still, Detroit and Flint residents know they’ll be okay. Eventually, as they continue to work hard and find solutions to their issues, things will be better.
Straight Outta Compton: Why I’m Not Offended
Watching this film, I expected to learn the stories of three brazenly blunt black men who turned musical water into wine. However, much to my surprise, the images of police brutality addressed in the film screamed with the language of now.
