Unfortunately, what is getting lost in this rhetoric is the fact that although our young people are voicing their concerns, they are at ages where they cannot vote. However, as Millennials, we are at the prime age where we can control the fate of these decisive decisions.
They are done being told their lives aren’t as important as guns and done being ignored by their government. They are demanding change, and hopefully, change will come.
All eyes were on Georgia Rep. John Lewis and Democrats supporting him this past week as he led a 26-hour sit-in at the Capital. Even after this event, we have to continue the conversation about gun control.
As we heal after Oregon Shooting, we as a society have got to change situations like these from continuing to happen.
