Whenever a soul is taken away due to senseless crime or race, it is a tragedy. The senseless killings of all human beings have to stop. We must assess the origins of the problem to properly rectify the issue.

This week, I came across The Steve Harvey Show’s episode on gun violence. That episode changed my entire perspective on the state of gun violence and youth unemployment not just in Chicago, but also around the nation.
MarShawn McCarrel was a known Black Lives Matter activist who recently took his life. From this tragedy, I hope many will realize they don’t have to suffer with their inner battles alone.
