If you’re anything like me, staying committed to your New Year’s resolutions lasts about two weeks, then they are mysteriously forgotten…
I must admit I don’t have the best record of keeping up with the promises that I make to myself at the start of each year. However, this year will be different! I promise… I mean it this time…seriously.
And you can keep them too. You deserve a happier, healthier, and better year than the last! To help you and myself in the new year, I have created an “insurance plan” that can help us make sure that we stick with our resolutions. Here are some very simple things we can do to achieve the goals that we set for 2018:
First…
Visualize it
This year, write your resolutions on a large piece of paper and frame it nicely on your wall. Make the list as creative and pretty as you want- the important part is that you post it in a place that you walk by often. My mom did this last year and framed it on the wall in the living room- and it worked! When you come home every day to see your goals on the wall, it’s a constant reminder to keep working hard to accomplish them.
Next…
Remind Yourself of Your Goals Accountable
Making reminder notes to yourself about what you should be doing or confiding in someone you trust about your resolutions for this year can be an effective way to make sure you keep your promises. Ask your friends and family to hold you accountable to your word. When they see you slacking, they will be sure to remind you to keep working towards your 2018 goals.
And lastly…
Keep Track of Your Progress
Being able to mark your progress is a great way to stay motivated in keeping your resolutions. Writing down your journey of working towards your desired accomplishments for this year. As you begin to record it down on paper you’ll be able to look back and read how far have come, or even what you need to work on. Plus, writing is therapeutic and can be a great way to vent frustrations on the road to success- giving you a clear mind and fuel to finish what you started
Remember, 2018 is **your** year. You have every right to live the successful and happy life you want to live.
Now, go out and make it happen!
