Not everyone just watches the Super Bowl for the commercials (crazy, I know), some people actually really enjoy watching the game itself, and they get really into it. And we mean really into it.
Chances are if you’ve taken a peek at social media in the last few days, you’ve seen the before, during, and after reactions the internet had to this year’s big face-off: the New England Patriots (back at the Super Bowl for the third time in the last five years) and the Philidelphia Eagles, who (spoiler alert) won their first ever Super Bowl. But if you decided the Puppy Bowl was more your speed and you didn’t catch the action, you can always count on Twitter to keep you in the loop.
Let’s just be honest, I think by this point most people are not only tired of hearing about Tom Brady and the Patriots, but are also sick of seeing them in the Super Bowl as well. A lot of people took to rooting for the underdogs in this game, hoping they would pull out a victory. One of those people happens to be our president, who in typical fashion, took to Twitter to congratulate the Eagles on their big win:
Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles on a great Super Bowl victory!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 5, 2018
But Trump wasn’t the only one celebrating the win. Fans cheered all over social media and the country.
#Eagles lost their QB on offense, their QB on defense and their left tackle this season… and still became champions. INCREDIBLE. #FlyEaglesFly #SB52

In fact, over 10,000 Eagles fans took to the streets of Philadelphia last night to celebrate making history.
Explosions, stolen police horse, damaged buildings… happy to see fans in Philadelphia are handling the @Eagles #SB52 win well lol 😂

And of course, this wouldn’t be a true coverage of the Super Bowl if we didn’t include the crazy debate social media had over Justin Timberlake’s half-time show performance, which included poor audio, a terrible outfit, and one hilarious teen the internet has dubbed “the new left shark.”
okay but why did #JustinTimberlake look like a clearance table at Bass Pro #SuperBowl pic.twitter.com/DB1tlAMwJL

Is the sound working or am I just officially too old for music? #SuperBowl

That kid is this year's left shark. #JustinTimberlake
— Andrew Brandt (@AndrewBrandt) February 5, 2018
On the other hand, there were some who did truly enjoy his performance:
YESSSSS!!!! THAT IS HOW YOU DO IT!! Magic. Loved THAT! See you in a few. #PepsiHalftime #JustinTimberlake
— jimmy fallon (@jimmyfallon) February 5, 2018
But there is no debate that the commercials stole the show, per usual. The big winners of the night featured a rap battle with Morgan Freeman and Peter Dinklage, a few 80 year olds trying some new jobs, and some M&Ms turning human (and quickly dying).

And finally, not that you were asking, but the Puppy Bowl was pretty spectacular too, with Mr. Wigglesworth taking home the Underdog Award and team Fluff winning for the second year in a row!
We TOTALLY understand why this is a #PuppyBowlXIV “Twitter Moment” – Mr. Wigglesworth, with all of his wrinkles = #toocute #PuppyBowl https://t.co/7qfWl7LhxL

Now we sit back and patiently wait for next year…only 364 days to go.
