The National Eating Disorders Association

The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is the leading non-profit organization in the United States advocating on behalf of and supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders. If you or someone you know is struggling with an eating disorder, we are here to help. You are not alone. Help is just a call or click away. Call their toll-free, confidential Helpline at 1-800-931-2237. They are there every Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am – 9:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (EST). Their helpline volunteers will offer support and guidance with compassion and understanding. NEDA also hosts several weekly support groups at the NEDA office in New York City. The National Suicide Hotline

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a 24-hour, toll-free, confidential suicide-prevention hotline available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. No matter what problems you are dealing with, they want to help you find a reason to keep living. By calling 1-800-273-TALK (8255), you’ll be connected to a skilled, trained counselor at a crisis center in your area, at anytime, 24/7. You can also visit You Matter, which promotes the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to young adults who may feel like they don’t matter or that they’re alone. It was created to help people know that they never have to take their lives.
 
 

The National Runaway Safeline


The National Runaway Safeline is keeping America’s runaway, homeless and at-risk youth safe and off the streets. If you’re a runaway in need of support or if you know someone who is, then reach out to those of the National Runaway Safeline. And the great part is, you can reach out to them in the best way that works for you. For example, you can call them at 1-800-RUNAWAY, chat with them online, visit their forum, or connect with them via email. When telling your story, you choose what information to share. Your information is always kept confidential. Each team member has been thoroughly trained to handle a crisis, provide support, and listen to your story.

Millions of people and their families are affected by substance abuse and addiction. To find out more information about this topic, DrugRehab.com is an online resource that aims to educate the public about drug addiction, alcohol addiction, and related conditions. SAMHSA’s National Helpline

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is a branch of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. SAMHSA’s National Helpline (also known as the Treatment Referral Routing Service) is a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals facing mental-health issues and/or substance-use disorders. The number is 1-800-662-HELP (4357). This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations. Callers can also order free publications and other information.
 
 

The National Domestic Violence Hotline


No matter where you are in a relationship, your emotional and physical safety is extremely important. If you have been abused, if you know someone who is, or if you’re concerned that your behaviors may be harmful to your partner, the National Domestic Violence Hotline, 1-800-799-SAFE (7233), can help. Their highly trained expert advocates are available 24/7 to talk confidentially with anyone experiencing domestic violence, seeking resources, or questioning unhealthy aspects of their relationship. If it’s not safe for you to call, or if you don’t feel comfortable doing so, you can get help through the chat services on their site Monday to Friday, 9AM—2AM CST. You’ll receive one-on-one, confidential interaction with a trained advocate.
 
 

The Rape Abuse & Incest National Network

At any given moment, more than 1,100 trained volunteers are on duty and available to help victims at RAINN-affiliated crisis centers across the country. You or your loved one can simply call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1.800.656.HOPE to connect with the nearest RAINN member center. The call is anonymous and confidential. The Online Hotline is also available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to provide secure, anonymous crisis support.
