Oregon Shooting: Why Have These Become Routine?

Lately, I can’t sleep.

Since the Oregon shooting, the constant reminders of shootings that have taken so many innocent lives has left me wondering why…

Why has this become a routine in our world? I connect with President Obama’s words about the shooting and his frustration with shootings like these continuing to happen –every single time we turn around.

The issue with the latest shooting is not just the act of the shooting itself…

But that shootings like this keep continuing to happen so frequently and there doesn’t seem to be an answer for how we can protect our children…for how we can protect ourselves.

Some say tighter gun laws are the answer. Others disagree.

It seems the answer has never been clear.

What is clear is that American citizens are fed up and tired of writing the same articles, saying the same prayers, and creating the same hashtags. Something has got to change.

We as a society have got to change situations like these from continuing to happen. I send my prayers to the families impacted by this shooting and previous ones that have taken so many beautiful, innocent lives.
