Let Your Own Instinct Be Your Social Feed

In our social-media-driven 21st Century, it’s impossible to escape the opinions of others.

You see what your Facebook friends “Like” and often wind up pressing the “Like” button yourself. You read what your favorite celebrities are tweeting about to discover the new music, blogs, and trends that hook you.

It’s easy to wind up losing our sense of self somewhere in the Internet’s infinite web. With that in mind, I’d like to propose a new (but very old) way to model our behaviors: getting back to nature.

When birds sit on a wire, it may look as though they decide when to take flight spontaneously. But, a bird knows instinctively when to take the air and is simply waiting for that moment.

Therefore, the next time you feel yourself and your interests getting muddled, think of the birds (not the screen-tweeting kind).

Let nature inspire you to ditch the influence of others in favor of your trusty gut!!
