Some Insanely Good Reasons To Take A Risk In Pursuing Your Dreams

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” ~Anais Nin

There’s a saying that the richest places in the world are cemeteries. Why? Because they’re full of people who did not fully live out their purpose – pursuing the amazing dreams, ideas, and more placed within them to present to the world.

Let’s be real: Most people are not *fully* living. It’s like they’re living robots – aspiring to do more with their lives but never actually pursuing doing anything. They’re scared, unsure, doubtful, and so many other things. Trust me, I completely understand.

But the thing is, we only get one life. One chance to do this thing called, life. One chance to make a tremendous impact. One chance to live our lives – fully. Therefore, it’s so important for each of us to move forward in fulfilling the unique dreams placed within us.

Some may not know exactly how to go about pursuing them, while others of us have this gut feeling of exactly what we should be doing. And that’s ok. None of this matters. The point is, to actually start living… to start seeking to become the person who you were created to be… to start being willing to believe in yourself, to start being willing to take risks, to start being willing to push through the negativity, to start being willing to have the courage to take that step. Now, I don’t mean literally stepping out on the edge, like on the edge of a mountain. 🙂 In fact, I highly do not recommend that you do that since it’s really dangerous. 🙂

However, I do recommend that you seriously start risking it all, to gain it all…

You only get one life…one.

“You’re on a journey with no defined beginning, middle or end. There are no wrong twists and turns. There is just being. And your job is to be as you as you can be. This is why you’re here. To shy away from who you truly are would leave the world you-less. You are the only you there is and ever will be. I repeat, you are the only you there is and ever will be. Do not deny the world its one and only chance to bask in your brilliance.”

~ Jen Sincero, You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life

So, why not make the most of this one and only life that you’ve been given?

Why not try to see all that you are capable of becoming?

To challenge you and to inspire you in doing so, here are five insanely good reasons why you should take the risk in living out your purpose and all you were created to be:

1. Realize: You have what it takes! Stop doubting.

If you don’t take risks and take chances, then you will never know what you could have accomplished. The only way to see the impact of your ideas or your passions is to go forward and start pursuing them – intensely. Instead of wondering about it, do something!

2. There is SIGNIFICANT greatness within YOU. You’re capable of so much more than you know – seriously.

Many times, we often doubt ourselves and what we can accomplish. We think that we don’t have what it takes to do what we imagine ourselves to do. But, the only way to see your dreams and ideas come to fruition is… to start… to try. Like author Jen Sincero says, “If you’re serious about changing your life, you’ll find a way. If you’re not, you’ll find an excuse.” As you start, you will be surprised by how you are able to navigate situations, to find resources, and to discover ways to make sure your dreams become a reality. Get rid of the “wishful thinking” and start executing.

3. Fear is nothing more than an illusion.

Someone once said fear has stopped more dreams than anything else. And I believe this also to be true. Fear can hold you up against yourself. When you think of everything that can go wrong, you’re wasting your energy. That’s energy that could be used towards taking steps to pursue your dreams and make things happen. Instead, focus on thinking positive. Replace your fears with affirmations to build your confidence and to tab into your inner superhero.

4. Your gifts and talents can *literally* put a dent in the world.

No one can *do* you. No one else was created like you. You are like no one else. There will never be another you. Your talents, ideas, and everything that makes you who you are are unique to you. Since that’s the case, only you can use these gifts and talents to create an impact in the world that only you were meant to create. This “world impact” is not only on a large scale, but also right in the lives of people who you see and interact with every day. Don’t take your gifts and talents for granted. Take a risk in using them and *fully* living.

5. You never know how the impact of your *one* life could inspire generations to come…

When I think about people like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs, and Rosa Parks, I think of people who have left such an immeasurable legacy that it continues to leave ripple effects beyond their lifetime. It is because of them that we have been able to see that is anything is possible and that we have more capabilities inside of us than we could have ever imagined. But if we choose to not pursue our passions and our dreams –just like they did– then we are depriving other generations from also seeing and believing that anything is possible. We can and have to generate an impact by living on the edge.

Remember, you only get one life. Live it!

“There are only two dates on a tombstone, and a dash in the middle. Live in the dash so that when it comes time to put the end date on, you can say you gave it your all.”
