However, we will be listing some things that you should avoid wearing. Here it goes, dressing ideas as per occasion and location:

1) When at breakfast…

You can wear cool Hawaiian shirts with comfortable shorts or pants. It is casual dining mostly and hence you needn’t stress out. So when in Hawaii, just stay calm and enjoy.

2) For dinners, shows, and cruises…

Now, ladies and gentlemen, you will have to up your game a bit. Women can enjoy maxi dresses with flowery patterns that suit the occasion while men’s flower shirt with some good pants will work just right.

3) When in flight…

You are in for some good vacation days which mean that you might get the vibes going on already! You can switch to aloha clothing already or dress up in your usual flight wear that you are comfortable with. Make sure you travel light to make it as easy as you can.

4) When you go for hiking…

Best Hawaiian shirt brands provide you with just the right clothing that you’d require to survive the hot and humid Hawaiian climate. Avoid wearing open shoes or sandals, wear sneakers or tennis shoes. Carry sunscreen with you and yes, hats and eyeglasses are a must. Wear cotton clothes that are comfortable. Tropics can be really hot and humid during the day so dress up in light colors that are comfy to wear.

5) If you plan on attending a luau…

As you will be near the beach, it is suggested that you go for sandals that allow you to walk on the sand, flip flops do work great. Go for a casual summer dress and a light cardigan for that cool evening ocean air. Men can dress in casual slacks and shirt as per their liking. Attending a luau will be great fun if you will be comfortable in what you are wearing.

6) For water activities and boating…

One can wear a bathing suit beneath Hawaiian shirts for women and pair it up with shorts or a cool skirt. Carry sunblock with you along with necessary swimming gear. Wear sandals or flip flops as per your liking. Just make sure your clothes are apt for water.

7) When you are taking a tour…

Carry a minimal amount of luggage with you. Dress lightly taking into account the day’s weather. Wear comfortable shoes that allow you to walk with ease. Casual dressing is the Hawaiian way of doing things, enjoy this culture too! Touring brings along a lot of walking and traveling so wear something that keeps you comfortable and light.

As we mentioned earlier, there is no right or wrong about dressing up. You can be dressing in your most hobo look and still fit in well with the locals. However, it is indeed suggested that you leave formal wear, high heeled shoes, and boots back because you won’t be needing them anytime soon. Enjoy the beauty of the beaches while staying comfortable both in your looks and clothes.

You are in Hawaii to have a good time, make sure you make the most of it!
