When we look in the mirror, we are supposed to see our reflection—the production of our own image.
It’s the very image of what we work so hard on just so other people can acknowledge us. It’s the very image of things we have cluttered our lives with and who we taught ourselves to be. We try to produce the perfect image in every detail, but get overwhelmed with frustration and sadness when that image does not reflect our imagination.
There are times when your dreams seem unreachable and impossible. Reality has a way of consuming our minds with an empty fear that discourages and frightens us. During these times, there seems to be no logical way for us to make our dreams come true, unless a genie comes and grants us three wishes.
It’s a journey. There are no benefits to a dream handed to you on a gold platter. Digging through the mud for hours, months, years to find that gold platter is the good part. The digging creates an appetite and hunger to keep searching until you find it. As you dig you are building your character, strength and bravery, often becoming delighted when you finally find what you were looking for.
In the present moment, we think our dreams are too far away.
However, they are just around the corner on the road less traveled.
Our dreams are a part of our imagination, and reflect what we want tomorrow. Dreams are hoped for, wished for, worked hard for. Your true dream will be greater than anything you ever imagined.
They say we only live once, yet in that one lifetime we live so many different lives. We lose ourselves in the day-to-day chaos, failing to realize we have an abundance of opportunities to better ourselves. That opportunity is called the future.
If your dreams don’t mirror your reality, then you are not living your real dream. Your reflection will be greater than your dream.
Keep digging.
