I felt the need to start this group because often time as a young Believer the journey can become very difficult and we may fall into moments of temporary weakness.
However, though our flesh may be weak I knew that our Spirits were strong and that if we as Believers came together, our moments of weakness would eventually decrease. The Bible talks about the Church being made up of the Body of Believers. I found that a very profound statement because when you have a “body” of anything, it is made up of different parts that all become necessary for proper body function.
If we are called to be a Body of Believers, then that means that we are all necessary for the Church to function and for each other to grow. If one part of the body isn’t functioning properly, then that will affect how the entire body works. Therefore, essentially, we are responsible for each other.
I have realized that we truly need to stay connected with other Believers to help us grow and flourish in Christ. That is what our GroupMe group has become: a support system for the young women Believers. It has not only changed my relationship with God, but it has also changed my perspective on the importance of connecting with Believers.
As we grow and mature in Christ, it is important to spread the Word to others. This can be done through making a GroupMe group for friends who may be looking to fall in love with Jesus, a special Twitter ministry page, or even just writing an inspirational blog. It is of the utmost importance that we don’t just keep our stories to ourselves. Instead, we should share our testimonies in hopes that they will inspire someone else to keep going just a little while going.
Once that struggling person has been inspired, it will then become their job to do the same for another person. It’s as if we our creating our own ripple effects in a sense. Then, concurrently, in everything we do, we are to give God the glory. We are to praise God by any means necessary. If you are not sure how to get started in connecting with other Believers, then a GroupMe group is a great starting place. Social media is usually free, easy to use and a quick way to spread the Word. If we, as Believers, never share our stories of how God brought us through, then how will people ever know of His works and greatness?
We are His creations, meant to exalt Him in everything we do. Nothing is too small, even if it is just an occasional Facebook status; we have to start somewhere and sometime. Try it out today! Until next time, be blessed.
