Dear Obstacles,

I want to thank you for allowing me to face my fears. You’ve allowed me to realize that they are really not as bad as I have always thought that they could be. Over my life journey, I have become tired of allowing you to make me hold myself captive and to hold myself back. I’m tired of allowing you to make me my own worst enemy.

Yes, you make me uncomfortable. Yes, you piss me off, and yes, I am annoyed by you. And, yes, I am mad at you for making many believe that things are impossible.

But, I want to thank you…

You have made me better.

And not just me, but others too. Because of you, people have been able to prove that what they or others thought to be was impossible…was indeed not. Instead of once feeling powerless, I am now feeling powerful.

It is because of you that many people, including myself, have realized what we are capable of doing. It is because of you that people have been able to live their life like they have never dreamed.

It is because of you that people have been able to touch the world in ways that they could have never imagined.

I’ve realized that my struggle, my opposition, my fears, my pains, my rejections, my failures, and everything that negative comes from you has been one of the biggest blessings of being alive.

You might hold me down for a moment, but I have found that I and others can jump over you. We can take you down. We can do what we thought to be impossible.

Now, my hunger for my dreams and for helping the world are the forces that helped me to push pass you and to realize the potential that I and others have to bring about change within the world.

I’m deciding to use you and everything that you throw at me as building blocks. I am determined to take you down and to not let you hold me back from living the life I have always imagined.

In “my book,” you are done.
