Named to Barron’s “25 Best Givers” list, investor and Internet pioneer Jean Case discusses a bold approach to social change that requires taking risks, being innovative, and failing forward. Their topics that greatly connect with our generation and our commitment to making the world a better place.
Jean and her team at the Case Foundation embrace the same entrepreneurial approaches she and her husband, Steve Case, cultivated throughout their business careers. Their brand of philanthropy is celebrated in their campaign that encourages other changemakers to “Be Fearless.”
It’s a campaign that also greatly resonates with many Millennials and our passion for being fearless in creating social change and improving our society, despite any perceived failures that we might encounter. The Case Foundation has continuously taken bold steps to understand and empower the Millennial generation over the last years through the Millennial Impact Project. More than 16,000 Millennials and 50 partners have participated in this series of studies exploring how our generation connects with the community, how we give to others, how we get involved with the issues we cares about, and how we overcome failure.
In an interview with Foundation Source, Jean touches on how her perspective on failure and living fearlessly has impacted her life and work in philanthropy at the Case Foundation: “Our work at the Case Foundation that has evolved as the “Being Fearless” campaign really reaches across sort of all chapters, all sectors and recognizes that almost from any any walk, at anytime in life if you are not careful you can be stopped by the things that you fear instead of seizing opportunities that might be in front of you.” Hear more of her thoughts on failure and getting involved in social change by clicking to listen to the full interview below:
