Emailing Your “Future Self” Might Be A Good Idea

We shouldn’t focus only on where we are today, but where we want to be in the future.

And writing is one way that I have been able to believe, dream, and imagine. With all of the emails that I send every day and with all of the writing that I do in my personal journal, I started thinking about how cool it would be to schedule an email to arrive to myself in the future…a year from now.

This may seem kind of creepy, but I think it would be pretty fun and interesting to see what I was thinking about in this moment of my life and to compare it to where I am then may be encouraging.

I want to challenge you to do the same thing.

In your letter, you can give yourself a pep talk (Kid President style); you could remind yourself about your dreams; you could encourage yourself based on things that are have already overcome; you can… well, the list is unlimited.

I think the beautiful thing about writing to yourself is that you can be creative and it can help you to put things in perspective. You know, we each are on a journey towards discovering and becoming all that we were predestined to be.

Email yourself to remind yourself of what you know you are truly capable of doing.

I’m just about to start writing mine, and am scheduling it to arrive in my mailbox a year from now…
