Discovering Your Purpose Is A Lot Easier Than You Think

I passionately believe that everyone is called to do something in this world. I believe that God has a calling on each of our lives in order for us to fulfill His divine purpose. At fourteen, I realized that my calling was to be a journalist. I just loved being able to use my voice and my writing to help others –especially teens and youth– to live their best lives. The difficult experiences that I went through as a teen have placed a great yearning within my heart to help youth, I can deeply relate to the often difficult teenage years and I know what it’s like to be so unsure of your place in this world…

Yet when I started hosting shows in high school, I realized that there was so much in this world that I needed to do, and that journalism was my calling. It deepened my relationship with God and gave me a new perspective on life and why I was here.

But you know… Let’s be honest. It’s really hard to identify what your calling is.

There are so many different journeys that you can take, and so many different things that you can do. But, then again… maybe it’s not that hard. I’ve recently discovered that your calling is the job that you would love to do, even if you had to do it for free. It’s something that you are effortlessly good at, and that makes you come alive in the world and fulfills your purpose.

I feel like there are so many unhappy people in the world, because they have become complacent with their lives. They are literally walking around dead inside…like robots. However, I want you to be inspired to live your best life now. I want you to be inspired to seek your truth and your purpose in this world. I want you to eagerly try to use your passions because this will ultimately help you discover your calling.

When I look back at my journey in journalism and the careers of others who have made such a greater impact on the world through journalism, I am determined to remain fervent about bringing attention to untold stories, and motivating others to be the change they wish to see in the world. I urge you to just go after your calling because when you do, you will feel free…
