Life continues its course, it does not stop for anyone – capture it now for there may not be a tomorrow. Living in the past or living in the future robs you of today. The past is gone, it does not come back. The future is not here yet, wait for it. Live for today because today will be history tomorrow.
Make each day of your life count. Today matters more yesterday and more than tomorrow. Today, you can make a big difference in your life and in the life of others. Today is a gift to you, embrace it. Live in a way that is memorable and meaningful to you. It is possible.
What will you do with the 24 hours that you have today?
There is nothing you can do to change the past, and you cannot know for sure what tomorrow will bring. It is okay to reflect on your past, not to dwell on it. Your past is what has brought to where you are today. The future is uncertain.
While you may be able to anticipate some things, the reality is that you do not know what the future will be all about. What will you do with the 24 hours that you have today? In an ideal world, you have eight hours to sleep, eight hours to work, eight hours to do what you need, what you want, and what you love.
Work is a tool for living, use it effectively and be wise about how you spend your time.
Do you live to work or do you work to live?
There are too many people in the world who live to work, they devote most of their time – including sleeping hours – to work. They lose track of time and they lose themselves in the process. It seems as if they want to escape from reality.
Staying late at work is part of their comfort zone. These people dread going home. Their significance is based on their work. How did these people get to where they are now? Perhaps poor or selfish choices. There is a big difference between living and existing. Make sure that you live, and live for today.
Filling your life with work and more work is not healthy nor meaningful in any way.
What matters more to you, working too much or finding balance?
Working too much to accumulate great fortune and recognition while neglecting your health, your family, and loved ones will not make you happy in the moment nor in the end. What are you escaping from?
There are countless stories of people who before dying lamented not having spent more time with their loved ones. They did not regret having worked more, they regretted having worked too much and living meaninglessly. Their material possessions and professional status did not fill the void in their hearts.
You may wish to have a better life and that is totally fine. Live one day at a time.
Are you taking people and things for granted?
Today you can be thankful for your job. Today you can be thankful for your family. Today you can be thankful for your health. You may wish to have a better life and that is totally fine. Live one day at a time.
Do not take people and what you have for granted. Be kind to yourself and to others. Today, dare to do something that is out of your comfort zone. Maybe there is someone you need to call to offer an apology or visit someone important in your life that you have not seen in a long time.
Today, you can decide to live meaningfully – or not. It is your choice.
Are you waiting for the perfect time to do something meaningful?
There are things that you have been desiring to do; be courageous and do one of them today. Do not wait for life to pass you by. You have today. There is no perfect time in this world to do something that brings you joy and satisfaction.
Today is what you have. A tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Do not take today for granted. Count your blessings. If you are going through a difficult time, remember that it is temporary. If you are celebrating successes, remember that they, too, are temporary. Life consists of ups and downs. Nothing lasts forever.
Life is about making a good balance out of what comes your way.
Live for today and reflect on whether you are living to work or working to live. Are you living to impress others? or Are you living to influence others? Are you living for yourself or Are you living for others?.
Reflect a little… What does your mind and heart tell you?
What keeps you from living for today? How can you make a significant change in your life today? Please share in the comments section below. Thanks!
