All God Wants Is A “Yes”

What is the one word that is universally music to the ears, you ask? It is, “YES!”

The joys of hearing that one word can sometimes create a euphoric experience for anyone.

It is the feeling you get when you are a kid with your parent in the grocery store and you ask for candy after already asking for many snacks and they say, “Yes”! When you ask your friend to pay for your dinner jokingly and they respond, “Yes”! That moment when you are called from a job that you interviewed with and they state, “Yes, we want you for this position”! That lifetime memory of being at the altar with the one you love and hearing, “I Do!”

Imagine those different situations and having the ear that hears, “Yes”. Such a wonderful, unexplainable, speechless, and memorable feeling! Now allow me to let you in on a little secret; all God wants is a YES!

Many of times, we tend to overthink what God wants from us. In our overthinking, we then come to the misconception that we must “get ourselves together” before we go to God. WRONG!

The word tells us, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” ~{KJV; Romans 10:9-11}

All we have to do is simply say, “Yes” and believe in who we are saying “yes” to, which is Jesus. When we make this declaration, we are simply telling Jesus, “Yes to You will, Yes to Your way, Yes I will serve you with my life, and yes, I will obey You!”

It is when we sincerely get into a position of full submission to God that the steps He has ordered for our lives will began to lead and guide us into who He has designed us to be. Just like hearing “Yes” creates a joy within you, imagine how big GOD smile is when He hears YOU say YES!!

Sometimes we can get into situations where we have been trying everything we know and putting forth everything we have, but if you just raise your hands up and simply tell God, “Yes”, everything will fall into place. We have to stop trying to work things out by ourselves and allow God. Remember, “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,” says the Lord.
