About Who You Are Now Versus Who You Can Be

When you look at your life now, it can be hard to imagine it being anything more than what it is in this moment. There may seem to be this gigantic disconnect between who you are now and who is it you want to be.

You think, how can I become that person? Is it possible for me? What is it going to take? And the questions continue…

You see yourself… in all of your imperfections, wishful thinking, and knowledge… and it can be hard to believe in what’s possible for yourself. It can be hard to look deep within yourself and to grasp that who are now versus who you can be are two different people. The dividing line doesn’t seem transparent.

But truth is, it is.

At least, that’s what I’ve come to believe about myself.

I am in control of who it is that I become. I determine my destiny and who it is that I want to be. There is no such thing as this “in between part” because each moment between “now” and who it is that I become “later” is connected. They all merge into this idea of the person who I aspire to be.

The transparency of this line is what allows us each to continue growing, shaping, forming and becoming all that we are capable of being. For me, it has helped me to realize that anything that I dream is possible for me, as long as I have the put forth the determination and the commitment to make it happen.

With the repetition of anxieties about life and the growing pains that come in between, rising above the noise to connect with who it is that you want to be is not as daunting as it may seem. And most of all, it’s a matter of looking within yourself and figuring out what you need to do day-by-day to get you closer to becoming the person it is who you dream of being.
