To Anyone Who’s Completely Indecisive When It Comes To Making Decisions

Life is a big opportunity composed of many small opportunities.

Our judgment is often challenged when we have to make decisions. We wonder, should we move ahead and make a decision… or should we wait?

The choices we make along our journeys define our live stories, and we all want to star in a good one. These stories develop from the opportunities we seek and the choices we make. The process we use to weigh our options and make those tough decisions should be just as important.

Think of the last time you chose to procrastinate. Did it help or hurt? Sure, it’s common for people to wait if they do not feel they are ready to make a decision and have fear about selecting the wrong choice. But being indecisive can often be just as bad, if not worse.

What should do instead of procrastinating?

Creep.

While you are waiting in the lobby of life, use your time wisely. Don’t simply wait, prepare yourself. Learn as much as you can from the people who have been through it before. Though the experts can teach you what you should know, it is up to you to use that knowledge. If you don’t know who the sucker is in the room, you are the sucker. Not knowing how the game works puts you at a severe disadvantage. Not being able to win, puts you in an even worse situation.

Look, when a lion is on the hunt, it doesn’t just start running after a gazelle. That would be foolish, as the lion would not have the advantage. By creeping in the shadows and waiting for a surprise attack, the lion gains the advantage of catching the gazelle off guard. That’s how we need to be when it comes to making hard decisions in our lives. You need to be able to execute the same strategy, if you want to be successful in your hunt.

When you creep, lay low. Observe and absorb as much information as you can to gain an advantage or understanding. Recognize what you are waiting for, whether it is the right time or the right opportunity. Be slow, methodical, and calculated as you creep. When you go all in, LEAP. Spring into action once you find what you were looking for. Your reaction is swift and precise because you have played it in your mind over and over again. These tactics may appear primal, but don’t be mistaken as to how effective they can be for you. They have worked for millions of years and are highly effective when used properly.

In the wilderness, instincts keep animals alive. If they see water, they drink. If they find food, they eat. DANGER? – run, hide, or fight. There are no guarantees, so any opportunities is not overlooked. Decisions are quick because survival instincts take over. Since the rules have not changed for millions of years, neither have the tactics. For us, life can be more complicated. Survival is important, but quality of life is often more sought after. We have evolved to become the dominant species on earth because we can think and innovate. Our societies and civilizations have continued to change as a result. To be successful, we must all learn to adapt as our environments change.

While determining when to creep and when to leap is instinctual, learning how to creep and how to leap is an art. It does not just come as a dream in the night, it needs to be learned and applied. The option of learning through trial and error is always available, but with its own risk. Making the investment in an advisor can save you heartache and regret when it comes to trying something new. Think of all of the great advisors you have had in your life. What have they helped you to excel in?

Learn to creep past the common, everyday opportunities. Resist temptation to settle where you are and stay on a chosen path. Sure, this means you are going to have to walk pass the average in search of the extraordinary. But once you find what you were looking for, take that leap!

Taking the leap requires faith and recognizing the signs that you have been searching for. When the time comes to leap, don’t hesitate. Just leap. You have would have put in the work and you are now ready for your instincts to take over. After all, this opportunity is what you have been waiting for. Your instincts can then lead you the rest of the way.

In life, you have to seize the moment! Don’t let that rare opportunity pass you by. Put together that foundation so that you will be prepared to leap at those opportunities that will propel you forward. Don’t choose the first option, choose the best option. Connect to what inspires you!
