Can you believe 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day?
Yep, it’s true. According to EarthDay.org, back in 1970 a young activist named, Denis Hayes, along with his team of 85 led events and demonstrations promoting the need for a healthy and sustainable world on April 22. Their activities inspired 20 million Americans – which was 10% of the entire American population at the time. Soon after this, they decided to name this day, Earth Day.
This year’s theme for Earth Day is Global Climate. To celebrate the big day, we here at RIZZARR gathered some thought-provoking quotes on the importance of taking care of our beautiful planet. We all have a responsibility to take care of the world and to make it a better place. Read these quotes below that prove why we shouldn’t take this responsibility lightly on Earth Day or any day of the year.
