1. Remember, You Only Have One Life.

There always seems to be a fearful view of death. It’s seen as the end, but you cannot allow the belief in your own mortality stop you from being yourself. Let the thought of death instead remind you that life is too short to worry and inspire you to live. There is a difference between surviving our lives and living them.

2. Exercise Daily

Not only is it healthy and keeps you alive longer, but you’ll feel better: Physically and mentally. You’ll be more confident in yourself and it’ll give you something to fill that free time. Start easy by always taking the stair, waking up and doing as many push-ups or sit ups you can, even going for a walk is something to keep you active.

3. Know What You Think: Write It Down

If you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything. Spend time figuring out who you are and what you believe in. Write down your favorite memories, your dreams and desires, whatever you want to remind yourself of in order to know yourself. Learn what passions drive you and what inspires you to be a better person. Keep it close to your heart and never let that go.

4. You’re The Average Of Everyone You Spend Your Time

You are the final product of everything surrounding you in life. Like a beautifully unique cake crafted from the personalities of everyone you know and everything you’ve experienced. You never truly stop growing, so bring people who you look up to or what to be like into your life. Become surrounded by knowledge and wisdom.

5. Most People Never Ask For What They Want

In order to be great, you must act without being told to. People, whether it be a professor, boss, parents, or significant other, want you to know what to do without being asked. Intuition and understanding of those around you is key to success.

6. Put Yourself In Places That Make Your Feel Uncomfortable

Challenge yourself and try new things. Educate yourself about the world around you. Eat a snail, go skydiving, play an instrument, learn another language, do anything you’ve never done before. Make your life exciting and surprise yourself with what you can be capable of by simply trying.

7. Talk It Out

Problems are not solved with silence or yelling. Speak to one another with an open mind and consider both sides equally. Don’t just talk, listen, and respond.

8. The Greatest Reflection Of Your Priorities Is Time

You can quickly determine what you find important in life by seeing how much time you spend on each factor. Don’t let social media become a priority in your life, look back and realize the time you’ve already wasted and now can never get back. Every second is a blessing because you took another breathe. You’re alive and you have a billion choices to make. Decide now to make the right choices, and spend the time you have wisely. You aren’t guaranteed any will be left.

9. Don’t Get Disheartened

Life is HARD. If great things came easy, everyone would do them. Think about every underdog story you’ve heard. Rudy, Rocky, Erin Brokovitch, and even the ones you haven’t. Oprah, Jim Carey, J.K. Rowling, Henry Ford, they are all examples of people who came from nothing. They hit rock bottom before their happy ending. Not everyone can be famous, but everyone has the capacity to be great. Don’t. Give. Up.

10. Perception Is Reality

Your world is what you make it. Plain and simple.

11. Self-Control Is A Finite Resource

You can’t stop yourself from doing everything, so only restrain yourself when it’s bad for you. Don’t hold back if you don’t have to.

12. Run, Wherever You Are

I don’t mean run literally. Run as in pursue. Chase after your passions and don’t let them get away. Run not away from a challenge, but head first into it. Fear is your only enemy, so don’t let that fear slow you down. Pursue your happiness.

13. Listen To Your Body

If you’re hurt or not feeling well do something about it. It’s worse to be sick and act like your fine then being sick and doing nothing. Take care of yourself physically and mentally. Ask for help, it is not weakness to need someone else.

14. Get Outside

Explore nature. Embrace the beauty of our world. Just ENJOY. There is literally a world of wonder out there so go and see it. Go star gazing, drive to a national park, climb a tree, do anything to see nature.

15. Focus On The Present, Be Aware Of Your Past, And Prepare For The Future

Today is your day, and treat it like you last because you never know. Today may be doomsday, or today can be the day you meet the love of your life. Don’t live in the past but learn from it instead. Your past doesn’t define you, but it has created you. Your personality and self is built from everything you’ve experienced and accomplished. Finally be ready for what’s to come. Make every day another step forward towards happiness and success.

16. Almost Everything Normalizes

Stay weird and show the rest of the world what their missing. Don’t let others change you and don’t aim to be someone else. There’s only one you and you are awesome.

17. Read Something Inspirational When You Wake & Go To Sleep

This will set get you in a great mood for sleep and for the day. Read anything from a famous speech to your favorite self-improvement book. Try to read something that get’s you really excited in the morning especially so that you’ll leave your house beaming with energy and wonder. Reading quotes by your favorite actors, sports heroes, etc. is also a great idea.

18. Pay Close Attention To What You Do Alone

Know who you are. By yourself, with no one else around, who are you?

19. Everyone Has A Vice

Listen. Be genuinely curious. Care. Be there for others because that makes a great person. Selflessness and reliability are incredible attributes to have. Being there emotionally for a friend is one of the greatest gifts you can give.

20. Have Faith… Your Moment Is Coming

Time has a funny way of making you wait. Greatness does not come overnight. Be patient and ready because opportunity comes when you least expect. Don’t be the person to miss out on something great because you’ve given up. And if worst comes to worst, and opportunity doesn’t come knocking…build a door.

Of all these tips to remember about life, I’ve noticed how I kept repeating something and in my opinion it’s the most important thing to remember. Life is short. Do everything in your power to make it amazing. Remember that success doesn’t always mean how much money you make. Happiness comes from many sources, so find yours and run with it. Follow your passions and dreams before selling your life into a career for the money. Love your job and you’ll never work a day in your life. “Be Happy for this moment. This Moment is you Life.” – Omar Khayyam
